As part of his latest column, journalist Mario Sconcerti has examined the positions of Serie A’s top three this year compared to this time last year.

“A year ago, Napoli were first in the table while Juve was second. These comparisons are useful because they give a real colour as to what happens. Inter has remained in third but with two points more, this would make you think nothing happened in twelve months, but it is not true.

He then went on to detail what he thinks has changed at Inter.

“Inter has became a more definitive team. Inter have found a way to play and while not the finished product, they have had a good start and good results. Last year only Icardi scored, do you have any idea how many goals he scored in the first round? 17, three more than Ronaldo now. Today he has 9 goals and Perisic has just three. This year Inter have 12 different players that have scored against seven a year ago. This shows a huge progress.”
