Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has revealed the reasoning behind the Grifone’s signing of goalkeeper Jandrei despite already having multiple goalkeepers on their books already.

“Jandrei is one of the best goalkeepers in Brazil which is partly why we decided to invest in him. We also invested in him because Inter have a buyback option on Radu and we must not let ourselves be caught unprepared,” Preziosi told Il Secolo XIX.

Romanian international Radu joined the Stadio Luigi Ferraris club on a season long loan in the summer with Genoa having an option to turn his stay with the club permanent in the summer. Should they activate it, Inter then have an option to buy him back for an already determined price.

Many media reports have suggested Inter will activate the buy back option if needed and have Radu act as the under study to current number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
