Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has specifically requested the signing of Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout is made during the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from La Nazione.

Fellow Serie A side Napoli are also understood to be interested in the Frenchman but any bids that arrive will not tempt La Viola in to dealing Veretout due to the fact they deem him as an essential part of their team, the report details.

The 25-year-old midfielder has made 16 appearances across all competitions this term for the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit scoring three and tallying two assists in the process.

A former French youth internationalist, Veretout has been with the Florence club since the summer of 2017 when he joined from English club Aston Villa. Veretout is under contract in Tuscany through to the end of the 2020/21 season and is understood to be valued at around the €20 million mark by the Fiorentina hierarchy.
