Former Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar reflected on his time with the club in an interview with Inter’s official club website and firstly spoke on the multitude of trophies he won.

“Being an Interista, it’s difficult to describe the joy you feel at winning something while wearing this shirt – it’s a unique feeling that I was able to share with all Inter fans. I am one of them, I feel it inside of me.

“When we won the treble. I know it’s not exactly a surprise that this is my answer, but it was a unique and absolutely incredible moment, and not just when we lifted the trophies: there was a special kind of energy throughout the season. We had the feeling we could do something special together, and this is exactly what happened.”

He then spoke on what his best moment was.

“Aside from all the wins and moments of joy shared with my teammates, I would have to say that the most incredible moment for me was when I said my goodbyes, when I was able to thank the fans for the seven years we had spent together. Not everyone has the opportunity to be part of this family – I’m very grateful to Inter and everyone who supported me.”

He penultimately spoke on who he thinks was the best player he played alongside.

“I played with great men and great champions but if I had to choose one player in particular, it would have to be Maicon. He was a wonderful player on the pitch and a fantastic friend off it.”

He concluded by discussing what he believes to be his three best saves he made while with the club.

“I would say that my save to deny Messi at Camp Nou was my best one: it was an almost impossible save as the ball was almost behind me when I got to it. In second place would have to be my save which prevented Thomas Müller from scoring in the final. I would rate the save I produced to deny Aquilani in a Serie A match against Roma as my third-best one.”
