Genoa sporting director Giorgio Perinetti has confirmed that both Inter and Juventus have shown an interest in signing Rossoblu defender Cristian Romero but insists he – and other Genoa players for that matter – will be going absolutely nowhere during the ongoing January transfer window.

“He is always getting better and he has a lot of potential,” he said in a telephone interview with Sport Italia.

Juventus and Inter are always the most attentive when it comes to young prospects and they have shown some interest in Romero but nobody will be leaving the club in January.”

The young Argentine centre back has made 11 league appearances since his Summer transfer window arrival at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris club from Argentine Primera Division outfit Belgrano and has scored one goal and tallied one assist in the process.

The 20-year-old is among several defensive targets for the Nerazzurri which includes the likes of Joachim Andersen and Gianluca Mancini of Sampdoria and Atalanta respectively.
