Roma are looking to get a deal in place for Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini to join the club at the end of this season according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mancini, who has also drawn strong interest from Inter in recent months, is valued at €25 million by Atalanta president Antonio Percassi.

The 22-year-old centre back, who is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, has shone for the Bergamo club since his arrival in January 2017 from Serie B club Perugia.

Mancini has made 17 appearances across all competitions for a total of 1390 minutes in which he has comfortably asserted himself as one of the best Italian defensive prospects. The Italian youth international has scored an impressive five goals while also tallying one assist this term.

The Giallorossi have also been linked with a move for Inter defender Miranda during this window who is more of a short term fix while Mancini would represent the long term future of the capital club’s defence if he were to be signed.
