Inter are one of three European clubs monitoring the progress of 18-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao, an agent of the player confirmed today.

Brazao has yet to make his first-team debut for Cruzeiro but starred for Brazil at last summer’s FIFA Under-17 World Cup, where the Selecao lost 3-1 in the semifinals to eventual winners England.

Inter are looking for new keepers with Samir Handanovic due to turn 35 this year and have identified the teenager as a potential first-choice option between the posts for the future.

“There are lots of important European clubs like Inter following Gabriel,” agent Stephanie Figer told FcInterNews.it on Friday.

“His promising performances in this early stage of his career have attracted the intention of several clubs – Braga in Portugal and Roma in Italy have also expressed an interest in him.

“I’d describe Brazao as a quick keeper who is efficient when he comes out of goal, with an impressive agility between the posts.”

Brazao recently signed a new deal with Cruzeiro to keep him tied to the club until 2021, but his contract contains a €40 million release clause for overseas clubs.
