Inter have set their sights on Fiorentina midfielder Marco Benassi but getting a move done in January seems too difficult according to a report from Tuttosport.

With Fiorentina not wanting to lose one of their star men this window, a move in the Summer seems more capable of coming off and Inter could offer players as part of a deal to bring Benassi back to San Siro.

The Inter academy graduate has impressed this term with six goals in 15 games and has asserted himself as one of the best midfielders in Italy.

Valued at €20 million, Inter could offer winger Yann Karamoh in exchange for the 24-year-old. The Viola club are understood to like Karamoh who could well be a replacement for Federico Chiesa, should Chiesa depart in the Summer.

Alternatively, out-of-favour Antonio Candreva could be sent to Florence in a deal that would bring Benassi to the Nerazzurri that is unless he is moved on in this window instead. The main problem with Candreva is his salary. He currently earns €3 million, €1.3 million more than Fiorentina’s highest earner Chiesa.

Roberto Gagliardini could be another who could be used. He performed well under Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli when he was with Inter and could consider his future at the club come the Summer if his current playing situation persists.
