Gazzetta dello Sport have provided an update as investigations continue into the death of Inter ultra Daniele Belardinelli, who died as a result of injuries sustained from being run over prior to Inter versus Napoli on boxing day.
Investigators have found that the car that run Belardinelli over belongs to a Napoli ultra and the lease on the car was taken out by the ultra’s father. The driver, who was identified by the security camera images Police have, was accompanied by three fellow Partenopei ultras and the car did not go too far from San Siro after the incident.
The report goes on to state that the driver of the vehicle could be charged with voluntary manslaughter. The driver and his associates have denied being present at the ugly clashes before the game but eye witnesses have confirmed they were in fact there.
Police are now convinced that two cars were involved in the incident too and investigations in to the other vehicle are ongoing. The first car put Belardinelli to the ground while the second car was the car which crushed him.
The Milan based newspaper also detail that Police are examining the behaviour of 80 Napoli ultras who got off the buses upon being ambushed.
