Cruzeiro president Idair Machado has confirmed that the club has received an offer from an Italian team for goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao.

Inter and Roma are both reportedly interested in the youngster but Machado gave little away when discussing the offer in an interview with O Tempo.

“The player’s camp presented us with a bid of €2.5m. The offer came from an Italian team, although I can’t name them,” he remarked.

His agent Stephani Riger also spoke on the offer.

“His release clause is worth more than €40m for foreign teams. Several European clubs as important as the Nerazzurri are monitoring Gabriel.

“His promising performances in a short career have put him on the radar of several European teams.”

The 18-year-old shot-stopper is also understood to have attracted interest from Portugal, particularly from Sporting Braga. The Brazilian youth international is under contract with the Belo Horizante team through to the end of the 2020/21 season.
