Flamengo’s chances of signing Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa have been dented with Inter requesting a fee for a loan move according to a report from Globoesporte.

The fee, while not disclosed by the Brazilian news outlet, is understood to be outwith Flamengo’s financial capabilities and it now remains to be seen if Flamengo will remain interested in the 22-year-old striker.

Premier League duo West Ham United and Fulham have also shown an interest in Gabigol, who is expected to meet with Inter management  to discuss his future at the start of next week. As per various reports, Inter are looking to move him on on a permanent basis.

Having joined Inter in 2016 in a €30 million deal, he failed to live up to the hype and has been shipped out on loan to Benfica and Santos. In his most recent spell away from the club with Santos he scored 18 goals in 35 appearances.
