In the coming weeks Atletico Madrid are to consider whether or not they will match Inter’s contract offer for Diego Godin according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

As per various reports, including multiple from transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Godin has received an offer from Inter to join them on a free transfer in the Summer once his contract expires at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Inter have offered the veteran Uruguayan a two year deal with an annual salary of €5.5 million. The offer also includes the possibility of a third year that will be automatically triggered if he makes a set amount of appearances in his final season.

The 32-year-old, who is currently Atleti’s club captain, has been with the Spanish capital club since 2010 and has made 369 appearances in that time. 19 of those appearances have come this season where he has scored two goals and tallied one assist in the process.
