Inter and Mauro Icardi will sit down to discuss a new contract next week according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The recent public spat with his agent and wife Wanda Nara has not discouraged the Nerazzurri hierarchy in their bid to sign the club captain to a new and improved deal. Inter hope to close the deal soon and avoid it dragging on for too long.

Inter’s last offer of €6 million per season was rejected and they should offer around €7 million this time although Wanda is expected to ask for more like €8 million for the Argentine.

Inter are however expecting Wanda to reduce the demands though given there is no real interest in signing Icardi other than just the usual enquiries and media reports.

The report goes on to state that Wanda will likely base her demands off Inter’s will to eliminate the €110 million release clause in the 25-year-old’s current deal, something she is understood to want in any new contract.
