At this moment, Juventus are the only Italian team to have made a concrete approach for Genoa defender Cristian Romero, this despite alleged interest from Inter according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Talks between Juventus and Genoa are underway over the Argentine centre back and the Bianconeri are said to be preparing a €15 million bid although Genoa are understood to value Romero at around €25 million.

Inter’s position in the race to sign him has been weakened by the limitations imposed on them by Financial Fair Play.

As per the report from the Milan based newspaper, Juventus are prepared to offer Stefano Sturaro as part of the deal. The clubs will meet again during the week to discuss Sturaro and it is highly likely that Romero’s name will come up during the conversation.

Romero joined Genoa for just €1.7 million during the Summer and has made 11 first team appearances, scoring once and tallying one assist in 950 minutes of action.
