Inter have agreed terms with Brazilian top flight side Flamengo for the loan transfer of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa from Milano to Rio de Janeiro, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reports.
According to the report, Inter have agreed to send Gabigol on a dry loan to Flamengo, accepting the Brazilian club’s proposal. This means that Gabigol, who became the top goal scorer of the Brazilian top flight with 18 goals in 35 matches, returns to Brazil but not to Santos the club he has had two stints at.
The player returned to Inter after his loan deal with Santos expired this past December, and he had expressed hopes to try and earn a spot in the Nerazzurri squad, only to be told by the club’s hierarchy that there is no room for him.
Recently Gabigol has been linked with a move to Premier League outfit West Ham but according to Gianluca Di Marzio they have been overtaken by Flamengo and now they have secured the services of the Brazilian player born in 1996.
