In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, former Inter defender Taribo West reflected on his time with Inter.

“Even though it has been 20 years, it seems like yesterday since I was at Inter. I still hold many of the memories in my heart.

“It was an incredible experience. Not everyone gets the chance to share a dressing room with top players like Ivan Zamorano, Javier Zanetti and Ronaldo. They were real friends and then I can not forget Giuseppe Bergomi either.”

The former Nigerian international then spoke on Gigi Simoni, who managed him during his spell at San Siro.

“He is an incredible man! I worked with many good coaches in my career but nobody is like him. He was a person who was fundamental to my growth as a player.”

He then spoke on former Inter owner and president Massimo Moratti.

“Papa Massimo, what a man! He has such a big heart.

“He was extraordinary with Kanu but there are many other stories that people do not know about. Moratti helped many players who were in trouble and he is one of the best presidents in football history.”
