As opposed to what was claimed by Corriere dello Sport, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that there are no problems between Mauro Icardi and the Inter management with regards to the delay in a new contract.

“Inter are now focused on the game against Benevento in the Coppa Italia as well as the game against Sassuolo as the Serie A resumes after the break. Another important task that Inter are focused on is the renewal of Mauro Icardi’s contract, for which there is a meeting in place next week between Beppe Marotta and Wanda Nara. Inter are ready to offer their captain and star player a salary of 7 million euros and are aiming to remove the 110 million euro release clause.”

So far Inter have been unwilling to match the demands that Wanda Nara is asking for, but the negotiations are ongoing and both parties would like to come to a mutual agreement as Icardi loves Inter and vice versa.
