Italian media outlet FcInterNews reports that there is still a gap in the sum asked and the sum offered regarding the negotiations of a contract renewal of Slovakian international central defender Milan Skriniar and Inter.

The gap is, according to the report, currently at five hundred thousand euros. Skriniar’s entourage has told Inter executives that he wants a salary of at least €3.6 million, like his teammate, Stefan De Vrij.

This number does not come out of nowhere though, this is the wages that has been offered by the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona, two clubs that are expressing great interest in his services and are ready and willing to match his desired salary if Inter cannot do so.

Skriniar’s wages are currently €1.6 million net per season. This new salary would be a €2 million increase. Skriniar is contracted with Inter until the end of June 2022.

Inter and Skriniar have been negotiating this contract renewal for quite some time now. This matter should soon be sorted out, especially with the possible arrival of Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid.
