Inter may consider moves for Krzysztof Piatek, Rodrigo and Timo Werner should Mauro Icardi leave the club in the summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Icardi has yet to renew his current contract which expires in 2021 and could leave at the end of the season if an overseas club decides to trigger his €110 million release clause.

Inter do not wish to part company with their captain and already have Lautaro Martinez as an in-house replacement, but they would look to secure a high-profile striker should Icardi move on.

Piatek joined Genoa for €4.5 million last summer and is attracting interest from plenty of Europe’s top clubs, having scored 13 goals in Serie A so far this season.

Inter will meet the Rossoblu in the coming months to discuss resigning goalkeeper Andrei Radu and could take the opportunity to make enquiry for the Polish forward.

RB Leipzig striker Werner has reached double figures in the Bundesliga for three seasons in a row, with 11 goals to his name so far this campaign.

Real Madrid’s interest in the 22 year-old has cooled and could pave the way for Inter to make a move, although Werner will cost at least €70 million.

Rodrigo caught the Nerazzurri’s eye last year by scoring 16 goals for Valencia in La Liga, by far his best goal-scoring tally in a single season.

However the Brazilian, who has a Spanish passport, has scored just twice in the 2018-19 campaign and has a €120 million release clause.
