Inter are working to secure a deal for Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen ahead of next season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Andersen, 22, had played every minute in Serie A this season for the Blucerchiati before missing the 2-1 defeat away to Juventus on 29 December through suspension.

Juve are also interested in signing the Danish defender, who joined Samp from FC Twente in the summer, along with Premier League side Tottenham.

However Beppe Marotta aims to see off the competition by working hard in January to put a deal in place for the summer.

Inter would like to secure Andersen as a long-term replacement for Joao Miranda, who is out of contract in six months and will not sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

The Brazilian wants to leave Inter during this window in the search for more game-time but will not be allowed to do so unless a club offers a reasonable fee for him.
