In an interview with Extra newspaper, Thierry Omairi, a member of the entourage of Inter defender Miranda denied that the veteran central defender is contemplating a return to Brazil.
Having seen a reduced amount of playing time, numerous reports have suggested that Miranda is considering his future with the club in search of more regular playing time. There is alleged interest from Brazil but Omairi is not convinced that it is an option at the moment.
“There is no possibility for that at the moment, I think he will stay in Europe in order to play another year of European football. He could return to Brazil at 36 or 37 years of age in order to end his career,” Omairi explained.
Omairi then went on to confirm that Flamengo have made an unsuccessful move to sign him.
“An offer from Flamengo? Yes there was an offer, but also other clubs have shown there interest. It was not a financial question that led to the no from the player, it was simply his will. This is just not the time for a return.”
