An elated Daniele Padelli reflected on Inter’s huge 6-2 win over Benevento in the Coppa Italia in which he made his first appearance of the season in between the sticks for the Nerazzurri.

“I am happy and it was a great performance from the team. We did well, especially in the first half and we are happy as it was a very good performance,” he told Inter TV.

“We were more clinical in this game than the one against Pordenone last year where we did not score despite having around 500 chances [laughs].

“The performance was important as we scored a lot of goals even if we conceded two. It is never nice to concede goals. I had to be ready and it was not easy, since I had not played in an official game for a long time.”

He concluded by looking ahead to the next round against Lazio.

“We know that this is an important competition and by winning a few games, we have the chance to win a trophy that Inter has not won for a long time. This is a competition that we have to take advantage of and we are fully aware of that fact.”
