Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi has confirmed Inter’s interest in Hamed Junior Traore while admitting that the Nerazzurri are not alone in courting him.

“Traore is liked by every team in the Champions League or who have been in it and that includes Inter,” Corsi said in an interview with Calciomercato.com.

“Lyon asked about Traore, but we do not want to give the lad up in January. We prefer not to talk until there is news. When we do something, you will know about it but we will not do much on the transfer market.”

The 18-year-old Ivorian has been a mainstay in the Azzurri starting eleven this season having collected 17 appearances across all competitions, 16 of which have come in Serie A.  In 984 minutes of action, the Empoli academy product has yet to score a goal but has contributed one assist.

Traore is under contract at the Stadio Carlo Castellani through to the end of the 2021/22 season and is understood to be valued at around €15 million.
