There is a new competitor in the race to sign Empoli midfielder Hamed Junior Traore in the shape of Fiorentina according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter and Napoli have also expressed an interest in the Ivorian midfielder who, despite his age, has been a mainstay in the Azzurri team this term having made 16 appearances in Serie A and a further appearance in the Coppa Italia to date. In 984 minutes of action, Traore has contributed one assist but is yet to score a goal.

As per the Milan based newspaper’s report, Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi values the 18-year-old at €15 million but given the wealth of interest that price could of course rise.

Traore is a product of the Empoli youth academy and made his first team debut during last season as the club won Serie B. He has a contract with the Stadio Carlo Castellani club through to the end of the 2021/22 season.
