Inter and Mauro Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi will be in contact today to discuss a date to hold further talks over a contract renewal according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The meeting date is obviously dependent on each parties commitment’s but the Rome based newspaper speculate that it is difficult to imagine it being too far away. This because there is a risk that the recent tension could rise again, the longer there is no meeting scheduled.
In terms of the renewal itself, the recent comments from Inter president Steven Zhang, chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and manager Luciano Spalletti would suggest that Inter at least are convinced about the possibility of finding an agreement.
It does however remain to be seen if the mutual will to continue together will be enough in itself to bridge the gap between supply and demand with it understood that there is a gap of a few million.
