Sassuolo Manager Denies Knowledge Of Any Offers For Inter Linked Duncan

Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi commented on the transfer rumours concerning his star players in an interview with Sport Italia.

“It’s a good thing that our players are desired by bigger clubs but their sale at this stage of the season would honestly greatly displease me. With this said, should Sensi, Duncan or Berardi for instance leave, we must be ready to replace them.”

The coach continued: “I am unaware of any offers Sensi or Duncan. The club is always reluctant to let our players leave, so I do not think anything will happen. When we do sell someone we can be proud that our work together has allowed them to dream bigger and achieve greater things. I do not see one of my players as better than the other because they are like my children. Sensi, Duncan, Berardi or Lirola are all different and equally important.”

The Italian then went on to discuss what he thought of Sensi potentially going to Milan: “Sensi to Milan? He is a complete midfielder. He can play deep or in a more attacking role. He has great technique, vision, control and the ability to score goals. He might not be physically strong but he makes u for it with his intelligence. Would I compare him to Verratti? Verratti was identified as a great talent by PSG very early and when he played for Italy, he imposed himself as one of the best, it’ll be hard for Sensi to displace him but it is not impossible.”

De Zerbi wrapped up by talking about a name Inter fans are very familiar with, Domenico Berardi: “Berardi is growing a lot and hopefully he will thank me one day. As a former player, I now understand as a coach that my ideas start with the players. I try to maximise everyone’s potential. In order for my ideas to work, I need the players on my side. I consider myself a capable tactician but I always start with helping the players.”
