There has been progress in talks between Inter and the representatives of Milan Skriniar over a new and improved contract for the Slovak defender according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Inter initially offered €2.5 million but have now raised their offer to €3.2 million plus bonuses, a sum much closer to what his agent Karol Csonto has requested.

The Nerazzurri are keen to deter the interest in the 23-year-old centre back by signing him to a new deal with reported interest in his services from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona to name but a few clubs.

Allowing Skriniar to leave San Siro is quite simply something that club directors are unwilling to consider and the report concludes that they could meet again with Csonto at the beginning of next month to close the deal.

Skriniar is an integral part of Luciano Spalletti’s Inter side and has made 24 appearances across all competitions this season.
