Luciano Spalletti will decide this afternoon whether Radja Nainggolan is ready to return to the starting XI against Sassuolo on Saturday, according to Tuttosport.

Nainggolan has not started for Inter since being suspended by the club on Christmas Eve, after repeatedly turning up late for training, and had struggled with persistent injury problems before then.

The Belgian has trained regularly with the rest of the first team throughout this week and is keen to start redeeming himself with a strong performance this weekend.

However Spalletti told reporters in Friday’s pre-match press conference he does not yet have 90 minutes in his legs, hinting he could start on the bench.

Keita Balde was the only player to miss training on Friday morning, having picked up a thigh injury on Wednesday which is expected to keep him out for around three weeks.

Inter will play in front of an almost-empty stadium at San Siro after the Lega Calcio ordered them to play two matches behind closed doors as punishment for the racist abuse directed towards Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
