Joao Miranda is expected to remain at Inter until the end of the season despite requesting a move in January, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Brazilian international has made just nine starts for the Nerazzurri this season after being displaced by summer signing Stefan De Vrij and reiterated his desire to leave in a meeting with the club on Friday.

However Inter told the centre-back they will only allow him to leave if they can find a reliable replacement at a relatively low cost.

“In other words, it’s more than likely he will stay this month, before the parties go their separate ways in the summer,” the Rome-based publication wrote on Saturday.

Miranda, 33, is out of contract in the summer and will therefore leave on a free transfer.

The defender has not featured in any of Inter’s last six matches in all competitions, having started in the 1-0 defeat away to Juventus on 7 December.
