Sime Vrsaljko and Borja Valero are in line to start for Inter as the Nerazzurri return to Serie A action against Sassuolo this evening, according to Tuttosport.

Other sources on Saturday suggested Luciano Spalletti was more likely to opt for Danilo D’Ambrosio and Radja Nainggolan at right-back and in attacking midfield respectively.

However the Turin-based publication believe Vrsaljko will get the nod in defence, with Joao Mario joining Valero and Marcelo Brozovic – who returns from suspension – in central midfield.

D’Ambrosio, Nainggolan and Matias Vecino will all start from the bench.

Keita Balde is the only player unavailable for Spalletti on Saturday after sustaining a thigh injury during training in midweek.

Inter have lost each of their last three home matches in Serie A against Sassuolo but will need to end that run if they are to keep pace with second-placed Napoli.

Inter’s expected starting XI against the Neroverdi is as follows:

Inter (4-3-3): Handanovic; Vrsaljko, Skriniar, De Vrij, Asamoah; Borja Valero, Marcelo Brozovic, Joao Mario; Politano, Icardi, Perisic.
