Sky Sport pundit Daniele Adani reflected on yesterday’s 0-0 draw between Inter and Sassulo at San Siro.

“For me, the visiting side in Sassuolo was excellent although they wasted some good chances. They had four or five important chances but Handanovic stopped them. We need to give merit to Sassuolo. The Neroverdi did not give Spalletti’s team any time.”

Adani then complimented the 11,000 odd children who were in attendance.

“Their constant shouts need no colours or flags. This is genuine and pure enthusiasm, the match was certainly accompanied by a beautiful sound.”

Next he spoke on the performance of Inter captain Mauro Icardi.

“He didn’t touch the ball much but that was not his fault. The Argentine only had 12 touches and this is the old Icardi, who – if not supported by the team – remains the only attacker who is going to take the time to look for the ball in the penalty area.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on the Europa League.

“The Europa League is a competition that must be faced with ferocity and with the desire to win the trophy. Aside from Juve, the Europa League is the trophy for Italian clubs. Teams like Napoli, Inter and Lazio are trying to forge a path to get to the end of the competition, even if there are other very strong teams involved.”
