Interviewed by Radio Rai after the final whistle of Inter-Sassuolo the Nerazzurri coach Luciano Spalletti analyses the unbalanced nature of his team against De Zerbi’s Neroverdi.

Did you believe you could score in the final minutes?

“It could have happened, because Mauro unfortunately slipped on an inviting ball from Politano. If it happened it would have been deserved for the effort we put in in the final minutes, but then we lost too many balls in the possession phase, we questioned some situations they had already planned.”

All in all, a fair result?

“Yes, the draw was fair.”

How do you comment on the particular situation of 11,000 children in the stands?

“It was a beautiful situation, you could hear the voices of the children who want to have fun and who just love football, a stadium full of love for football.”

The San Siro was closed to the public as punishment for racist chanting that was heard in the victory over Napoli on Boxing Day, but Inter were granted permission to allow 11,000 children into the stadium in a bid to combat discrimination.
