This week is a decisive week in talks between Inter and Wanda Icardi over a new contract for her husband/client Mauro Icardi according to a report from SportMediaset.

Talks have been ongoing for quite some time and following some recent tension all of the involved parties seem calm on the matter as evidenced by their comments in the past few days, namely Wanda herself and Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta.

As per the report, Inter have presented a new offer in excess of €7 million per season that includes a €180 million release clause in the deal.

Icardi’s current contract runs through to the end of the 2020/21 season and is believed to be worth around €4.5 million a season. There is also a €110 million release clause in the contract that is valid only to foreign clubs during the first two weeks of every July.

This season Icardi has made 24 appearances across all competitions and has scored 14 goals and tallied three assists in just shy of 2000 minutes.
