Juventus are in pole position to land Cristian Romero from fellow Serie A side Genoa according to a report from Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The Argentine defender has also drawn interest from Inter as of late but his future already appears to be with Juventus who are down to defining the details with Genoa to sign the 20-year-old.

The report goes on to state that similarly to the deal Juventus completed for Mattia Caldara with Atalanta in previous years, Romero will remain with Genoa for the next 18 months and will link up with the Allianz Stadium outfit in the Summer of 2020.

It is understood that Genoa are demanding a sum of €20 million for Romero, who they only signed for a mere €1.6 million in the most recent Summer transfer window.

This season Romero has made 11 appearances for the Grifone across all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting just as many in 950 minutes of action.
