Inter consider making a move for Manchester United’s Italian international defender Matteo Darmian Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reports.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri have approached Manchester United to understand the financial requirements of a negotiation. The former Torino and AC Milan player has been linked heavily with a return to the Serie A and Juventus, but Inter have gotten involved and their interest is serious and not motivated by revenge as some outlets have suggested.

This is because Inter like the fact that Darmian can play both as a full-back and as a central defender, and therefore should Brazilian international central defender Joao Mario leave during this transfer window, the Manchester United player would be ideal given his versatility and low price.

Matteo Darmian joined Manchester United from Torino in the summer of 2015 for a reported fee of £12,7 million and has since then featured 91 times across all competitions scoring just the one goal.
