Inter have overtaken Juventus in the race to sign Manchester United’s Italian international full-back Matteo Darmian Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reports.

According to the report, given that Juventus are unable to offload Italian full-back Leonardo Spinazzola, the Bianconeri seem unable to be able to bring the former AC Milan and Torino to the club.

However, this does not mean that the transfer to Milano from Manchester is a done deal given that Manchester United have made it clear that they are only interested in selling the player on a permanent basis. Given the Settlement Agreement Inter have signed with UEFA for violating the Financial Fair Play rules, the Nerazzurri are unable to buy the player outright, unless they sell a player first.

Therefore, the only option that remains for Inter is to make an offer of a dry loan or a loan with an option to buy, either way the loan fee would have to be rather high, and it is unclear if the Nerazzurri are prepared to do so.
