Spanish newspaper AS report that at the current pre-established price, Inter may not take up their option to make Sime Vrsaljko’s stay at the club in to a permanent one at the end of the season.

Vrsaljko joined the Nerazzurri on a season long loan for a fee of €6.5 million from Atletico Madrid in the Summer transfer window with Inter having an option to make the move permanent for €17.5 million.

The Croatian defender has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Inter manager Luciano Spalletti’s team and his time with the club, particularly the early part, has been plagued by recurring injuries.

If not for a real upturn in form from the full back in the second half of the season, it is difficult to imagine Inter will take up the option on him at least at the current figures.

Vrsaljko has made just 13 appearances since his arrival at the Nerazzurri and has contributed two assists in little over 900 minutes.
