Inter are in advanced talks for Premier League outfit Southampton’s Portuguese international Cedric Soares Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri are not convinced with Croatian international Sime Vrsaljko who is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid. The Croatian full-back has been injured ever since joining the club and when he has played he has hardly set the world alight.

This has prompted Inter to look begin talks for the Portuguese full-back, who has so far this season made 18 performances in the Premier League for Southampton, scoring once and making two assists. This follows yesterday’s report that Inter were keen on Matteo Darmian but backed off after hearing Manchester United’s asking price.

In conclusion, Di Marzio reports that Soares could be Inter’s surprise signing in January as developments are expected over the next few days.

Soares joined Southampton in the summer of 2015 for a reported fee of €6,5 million, and has since then featured 112 times scoring twice in the process.
