Inter remain interested in signing 16-year-old Sochaux starlet Lucien Agoume but have ground to make up on other competitors according to a report from jeuneafrique.com.

The French-Cameroonian midfielder is under contract with the French second division side through to the end of next season and earns under €1000 a month.

It is understood that Agoume has also drawn interest from Lyon, Monaco, several German clubs and Barcelona with the Spaniards said to be in pole position to land him.

Sochaux have financial problems and as a result they could raise some much needed funds through selling the teen talent. They are unlikely going to be unable to meet the contracts that other clubs can propose to him and could sell him for a sum of between €3-4 million.

Despite his age, Agoume, who is primarily a central midfielder but also capable playing in a more advanced role, has made seven first team appearances this term, three of which have come as a starter.
