The Europa League Round of 32 match between Inter and Rapid Vienna is getting closer and closer and Rapid are at the centre of a real race against the clock to get the pitch at the Allianz Stadion back into the best possible condition.

The Austrian club has purchased six special poles that provide heat and sunlight for photosynthesis. In addition, a special “Air2G” machine for soil loosening was installed, for which almost €1 Million was invested.

Inter travel to Vienna on Thursday 14th February for the first leg of their Round of 32 tie. Inter dropped down to the Europa League after finishing 3rd on goal difference in their return to the Champions League after seven years. The return leg will take place the following week on Thursday 21st February at the San Siro in Milan.

Rapid Vienna qualified second in their Europa League group behind Villareal and ahead of Rangers to qualify for the Round of 32.
