Inter coach Luciano Spalletti expects his side to perform much better than against Sassuolo last week, when the Nerazzurri travel to the Stadio Olimpico in Turin tomorrow afternoon.

“We have worked in the correct manner, in order to take on a match that is this difficult. We have talked through an analyzed all the issues.”

“In our last match we didn’t give a performance on the level that we are able to be at, this is why I expect that we see the right attention, balance and force in order to try and win this game against a tough opponent.”

“They are a physical side, who continuously make the match dirty and as a consequence we have to be ready to understand where the second balls and rebounds end up from the physical battles.”

“I expect Torino to play with two strikers, Zaza and Belotti, I have coached Iago Falque and he is a complete player. He knows how to do everything. With Zaza the situation can change at a tactical level as well as having an impact offensively, because he has physicality. With Belotti they can create aerial threats to our central defense which is quite impressive. We will see if we will be able to play the way we want and keep the ball far from our area.”

When asked about what impact LionRock Capital will have on the club after acquiring almost a third of the shares, Spalletti was carefully optimistic.

“I don’t know, I’m glad that there is this important prospective and that the club always wants to try and organize to build a stronger team because our history deserves it. We have a lot of fans and they should be given important answers for a team that keeps getting stronger.”

Spalletti then moved on to talk about the transfer market, both incoming and outgoing given the latest reports regarding Ivan Perisic in the Italian press.

“It is normal that during the transfer window you talk about him because he is a great player. You talk of those who have quality. He is a player that everyone wants in their team but then the numbers have to add up in order for this reasoning to work. He knows what his job is so we are expecting him to continue doing what he knows he must do. We expect him to give something extra as that is what you expect from great players as opposed to normal players.”

“You all know Cedric. You also know Vrsaljko’s situation, UEFA’s limitations. Right now I am evaluating things, he is evaluating with the club and with Atletico to see what is the best thing to do for the player.”

In conclusion Spalletti clarified the situations regarding Matteo Politano and Brazilian full-back Dalbert

“Politano has suffered a strain on Tuesday and for this reason we have looked to not work that muscle. When these unclear situations occur the daily evaluation of the player’s physical status becomes important. We are confident that he will be available but then we have to evaluate if he can play 90 minutes.

“Dalbert is the strongest player in the group. Great player of the highest level. He has not played a lot, that is my fault and as well the fault of the fact that we have another very strong player in that position. When Asamoah has been missing he has given us the same [that Asamoah would give]. He is a player we are counting on moving forward.”
