It’s no secret that Inter are very interested in making a Summer move for Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella and Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report on the Nerazzurri’s strategy.

“Inter have both Plan A and Plan B. This will all depend on what Cagliari and Barella want. It will also depend on the economic power of the other clubs competing for his signature. At the moment, Barella has an agreement with President Giulini that they will continue together until the end of the season and then they will decide what the best solution for everyone is. Cagliari’s demands are well known: €50 million.”

“Inter’s current priority is to make 40 million capital gains that are required for UEFA, and then, once outside the settlement agreement, Inter will have more freedom in the transfer market. Inter’s plan for Barella would be to offer no more than €25 million plus bonuses worth up to €10 million, and the inclusion of one or more youngsters perhaps with the option to buyback.”

“The other plan includes getting closer to Cagliari’s valuation, but still trying to lower it slightly by including youngsters. Cagliari have shown interest in Pinamonti, Emmers, and Vanheusden, but we will have to wait and see what happens next. The competition for Barella’s signature is fierce.”
