Marotta: “Perisic Wants To Leave Inter But There’s No Suitable Offers”

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has confirmed that Ivan Perisic has shown a ‘desire for a transfer’ away from the club.

As per many reports in the media, Premier League side Arsenal have shown a keen interest in signing the Croatian winger, who has been with Inter since 2015.

“We have to live with a situation that many clubs have in this period, which is players who express their desire for a transfer,” Marotta revealed to Sky Sport.

“We listened to the player, he has this desire. We want to make him happy, but also have to consider what is best for us. So far, no suitable offers have arrived, so we will wait.

“When a player is fair and tells us his mental state and what he wants, we will always listen. After that, it’s an issue of looking after the club’s financial interests.”

As part of the interview Marotta was asked about the other media speculation but remained tight lipped.

“We have to wait for things to become concrete, we can not talk about anything.”

He concluded the interview by the broadcaster speaking about the kind of players Inter are looking to bring in.

“The margins for improvement must be there, the results must be a stimulus for everyone. Inter has gone through a difficult period and the results must come but it is not always easy.

“We are working on the concept of belonging and looking for players who have a winning mentality and who are honoured to wear the Inters shirt.

“We are doing it together with both great desire and motivation. We are at an interlocutory moment, the goal is to win the Champions League.”
