This week is a decisive week for the future of Luciano Spalletti at Inter, at least according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

The performance in last night’s 1-0 loss away to Torino has not only left a bitter taste in the mouth’s of Spalletti and the Inter team but the Inter management also. The match with Lazio on Thursday night in the Coppa Italia is to be decisive for him.

Last night’s loss was the second consecutive game wherein Inter dropped points against a side who they should be beating having drawn 0-0 with Sassuolo the previous week.

Spalletti took over Inter in 2017 and lead them back to the Champions League with a fourth placed finish in his first season in charge. Inter currently sit in third place in the Serie A table and have a six point gap on fifth placed Roma but if Inter’s recent form is to continue, they could see themselves blow their lead and drop out the Champions League places.
