Inter Linked Joachim Andersen’s Father: “99.9% Sure He’ll Stay With Sampdoria Until June”

Joachim Andersen’s father Jacob Andersen has spoken on his son’s immediate future with Sampdoria amidst continued reported interest in his services.

“I am 99.9% sure he will stay with Sampdoria until June. I say this because anything can of course happen in football. Maybe in the coming days an offer will arrive that can’t be refused and he will leave but we will not actively do anything to make this happen,” he said in an interview with FCInterNews.it.

“Joachim is very happy at the club. He is playing every week which is very important for him. He is only 22 and still has a lot to learn and is aware of it. He admires his coach a lot and is happy to learn something new from him every day.

“If we look at general development, it is important for him to remain at Sampdoria. They are a club who stick to their word. They told him if he improved he would play more and that is what happened and he wants to continue on his current growth path.

“The reason why we chose Sampdoria a year and a half ago was because most of the best defenders on the planet have grown up and forged themselves in Italy. If Joachim has been able to impose himself here then he can do it anywhere else.

He then commented on the possible price it would take for his son to be taken from Sampdoria and on rumours linking him with Inter and Napoli.

“His price? I have no idea. The rumours? I do not comment on these kind of things and will tell you why.

“A Danish colleague asked me what clubs were interested in Joachim. I did not want to comment. I simply said to go to Google and see what came out because maybe other journalists knew more than me. He took the names of the teams from all the published articles and then wrote that it was me who revealed them to him.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on whether he finds it difficult balancing being his son’s father and agent.

“I offer Joachim advice as his father and will continue to do that. That said, Joachim needs a more powerful agent with a strong international network to take care of his career. That’s what we’re looking for right now, but we’re not in a hurry. In this businessthere is so much money involved that many agents think only of themselves and not the players and career of the players. We are very careful in our choice and we will take our time before any decision.”
