Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and club president Steven Zhang have made initial contact with Antonio Conte with regard to becoming Inter manager starting next season according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

Pressure is seemingly building on Inter manager Luciano Spalletti after two poor results and the Nerazzurri management are seemingly taking the first steps toward going down a new path come the end of the season.

Conte was linked with taking over at Inter prior to Spalletti’s appointment in 2017 but could be set to be reunited with Marotta, who he worked with at Juventus.

The former Italian national team manager is currently without a job having been sacked by Premier League side Chelsea in the Summer where he was succeeded by Maurizio Sarri.

49-year-old Conte last managed at club level in Italy in 2014 and left for the Italian national team job having led Juventus to three straight Serie A titles.
