Lautaro Martinez reflected on Inter’s performance in their 1-0 loss to Torino which saw him given a rare opportunity to form a striking partnership with compatriot Mauro Icardi.
“We are not playing as well as we want, what the fans want and what the coach wants too,” he said in an interview with broadcaster Sport Mediaset.
The 21-year-old, who joined Inter in the Summer transfer window, was also asked if the recent transfer rumours, particularly those concerning Ivan Perisic, have been a distraction for the team recently.
“I do not know, I see everyone as committed to the project but then it depends on everyone’s mental state. Obviously what happens off of the field with the management and the agent are his problems.”
This season Lautaro has made 18 appearances across all competitions for a total of 683 minutes in which he has scored five goals and tallied one assist in the process.
