The future of Inter manager Luciano Spalletti is a hot topic in the news and reports on potential replacements for him are increasing with Corriere della Sera adding fuel to the fire.
Results in the short term will determine his future at the club, despite having a contract through to the end of the 2020/21 season.
Some players are understood to be growing unhappy with Spalletti’s game management and club president Steven Zhang cancelling his planned trip to China highlights just how delicate a moment it is for the club – who have already had words with Spalletti since the loss to Torino.
The favourite name to replace him at the Nerazzurri is former Italian national team manager Antonio Conte.
Inter’s management have denied reports that they have already made contact with Conte, who left Chelsea in the Summer. Inter and Suning owner Jindong Zhang met with him prior to Spalletti’s appointment to try and bring him to the club but was unable to do so.
Conte would like to keep managing in England – due to the possibility of the Manchester United job – but Inter, as per the report, would be the only team that would make him consider a return to his homeland.
