What seemed like a done deal no longer seems like so when it comes to Real Madrid and River Plate’s Exequiel Palacios according to a report from Argentine news outlet TyC Sports.

The 20-year-old midfielder was seemingly set to join Los Blancos after last month’s Copa Libertadores final but interest appears to have cooled which has opened up the opportunity for some clubs to enter the race.

One such team is Inter who have reignited their previous interest in the youngster who is primarily a central midfielder but is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder instead.

Two-time full Argentine international Palacios – who is currently under contract at the Estadio Monumental through to the end of June 2021 – has made a dozen appearances this term for the Buenos Aires based side across all competitions in which he has scored one goal and tallied two assists in 687 minutes on the pitch.
