Cedric Soares’ move to Inter has been a long time in the making according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Portuguese full back was officially presented to the media as an Inter player having signed on loan for the remainder of the season from Premier League side Southampton on Sunday. As part of the deal, Inter have an option to turn the 27-year-old’s stay at the club in to a permanent one at the end of the season.

His signing was prompted by the continue physical problems that Sime Vrsaljko has faced since joining on loan from Atletico Madrid back in the Summer.

The report goes on to state that Inter have courted the EURO 2016 champion for the past two years but up until know could not find the suitable conditions to get a deal done. In addition to this, Inter’s move was helped along by the player’s desire to leave Southampton.
